YOUR PERSPECTIVES ON ACADEMICS: I have always been interested in politics and government, so coming to Wellesley to study political science was an ideal choice. The Political Science Department at Wellesley offers its students a vast array of courses and great opportunities, such as internships and research positions, to grow in the field. It is also fortunate that Wellesley allows us a great amount of latitude in tailoring our degree. I have been able to combine my passion for language and literature with my passion for politics seamlessly.

As for what makes Wellesley a great college, I think the beauty of the campus would rank high on my list, but ultimately it is the people at Wellesley that make it an excellent place to learn. My professors are always enthusiastic about helping me explore my academic passions, and the many lectures and extra-curricular activities that Wellesley sponsors have added to my academic experience outside the classroom.

RESEARCH: I conducted research about the gap in access to technology in American schools during a Wellesley-sponsored program called Pathways and spent last summer working for Fundación Paniamor, the leading children’s rights advocacy organization in Costa Rica. As an intern at Fundacion Paniamor, I worked with the national coordinator of the Code of Conduct Project, and international initiative to help stop and prevent sexual tourism.

In the future, I would like to do an independent study in political science at Wellesley or at MIT and possibly write a thesis.

BEST THING ABOUT WELLESLEY (OR WOMEN'S COLLEGE):If I had to name one aspect about Wellesley that would make me choose it again in the college search process, it would be the amazing women who study here. My fellow students are diverse, motivated, and compassionate. The experience of living and learning at Wellesley cannot be matched simply because Wellesley is not a place that can be duplicated. We are Wellesley; we make it what it is.

DREAM JOB:
After graduation, I would like to live in Europe or Latin America for a couple of years and then attend law school. Eventually I would like to be involved in politics or work in a law firm.

FUN FACT:I love foreign languages! I am currently learning my fourth language and spending a semester in France with the Wellesley-in-Aix program.
