FAVORITE
COURSE: I
really enjoyed taking Images of Africana People
in the Cinema, an African Studies (AFR 207) course that analyzed
films and discussed cultural and political issues from different
regions
of the Diaspora. I also really enjoyed Economics of Globalization
(ECON 312). My favorite economics course studying abroad
in Brazil was, Globalization and the Insertion
of the Brazilian Economy.
YOUR
PERSPECTIVES ON ACADEMICS: I
like how studying economics allows me to analyze current world
situations from an academic perspective.
It makes
me
think
more intuitively about current events in the news.
EXPERIENTIAL
LEARNING - STUDY ABROAD: After
studying abroad in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the fall of my junior
year, I became really interested in international
finance,
so when
I came back I learned more about a five-year dual-degree
program that Wellesley offers in partnership with Brandeis International
Business
School. I am currently working towards my M.A. in international
economics and finance at Brandeis and finishing up my economics
major at Wellesley. It’s been a great experience
to have more exposure to the international finance and
business side
of the world economy.
FAVORITE
THING ABOUT WELLESLEY (OR A WOMEN'S COLLEGE): I
really like that Wellesley women are so outspoken. Being around
such powerful women
has made me more assertive and opinionated, as well as more open-minded.
DREAM
JOB: If
I could have any job, it would probably be one that would allow
me to travel to various parts of the world and help companies
make better
financial/investment decisions. I would have to be a part of a
company that is committed to cultural exploration because in my
down time
I would want to organize trips for my co-workers. I would tour
the area and try to really understand the needs of the people
that we
are trying to help.
FUN
FACT: I
have never lived in the same place for more than a few years. I’m
an “Air Force Brat” and my family has lived in
Georgia, North Dakota, Texas, Turkey, Colorado, Alabama,
Italy, Missouri,
Virginia, and we are back in Colorado!
