"It’s really exciting when you find subjects that interest you, make you ask more questions, and enable you to create connections between what you thought you knew and what you have yet to learn. Two-thousand-year-old poetry can be profound; American history can be relevant."

FAVORITE COURSE: My favorite class so far was American Drama and Musical Theater (ENG 281), which focused on American plays and musicals. It was so delightful and really fun; I absorbed so much knowledge in the class. The teacher, who later became my major advisor for American Studies, was amazing. He was insanely entertaining and liked to sprinkle his conversational lectures with anecdotal evidence and little-known facts about the plays and musicals. It’s those little things that really stood out, and the people in my class were really interesting and added a lot as well. We also had the opportunity to act or sing as part of our final grade.

ACADEMIC PERSPECTIVE: What I love about studying my majors is the way that you can branch ideas together by studying history. My professors in Classics and American Studies are simply phenomenal, and I could not give up one or the other. It’s really exciting when you find subjects that interest you, make you ask more questions, and enable you to create connections between what you thought you knew and what you have yet to learn. Two-thousand-year-old poetry can be profound; American history can be relevant.

The faculty members at Wellesley are the most invaluable resource I have ever found. They are full of knowledge and only too happy to share their thoughts, ideas, and insights with you. Moreover, they are more than excited to hear what you’re thinking, discover how you see something, and understand what your take is on just about any aspect of their discipline.

RESEARCH/INTERNSHIPS: Next fall I am planning on writing a senior honors thesis in Classics on depictions of Rome and its people in the media – television and cinema.

DREAM JOB: My dream job is to be a professional stage manager. Theatre is my third love and it’s incredibly close behind history – both ancient and modern, antiquity and American. So, my dream job in my wildest dreams is one that pays next to nothing, requires copious amounts of one’s time, infinite patience, and ultimate subservience. I would honestly love every minute of it. My next love is sharing what I love with other people and so, therefore, what I actually plan to do after graduation is teach. Most likely I will teach secondary school. I want to either get a fellowship at a private school or work for Teach for America.

FUN FACT: I can speak in iambic pentameter and know a lot of Latin jokes.
