Alumnae Association History
Programs
As the Association has grown in both size and
diversity, so have its programs. The following chart summarizes
the development of some of the Association's major activities:

Annual Meetings
|
1881 |
All alumnae are invited to the College to discuss
College and Association business. The Annual
Meeting is usually held the Sunday of Reunion.

1881 |
Classes reune on a quinquennial
system, returning to campus every five years on
the first weekend after Commencement.

Alumnae Directories
|
1882 |
All-alumnae directories are printed
by the WCAA for the exclusive use of the College
community and alumnae.

Capital Fund Drives
|
1887 |
Alumnae volunteers coordinate with
the Office for Resources to help stimulate alumnae
giving and increase participation rates. Since
1952, all fund-raising activities for the College
have been overseen by the College's National Development
and Outreach Council.

Alumnae Trustees
|
1889 |
The Association elects four alumnae
to serve six-year terms on the board of trustees.
Since 1973, a Young Alumnae Trustee has been elected
from every third graduating class by the current
junior and senior classes and the class that graduated
in the previous year to serve a three-year term.

1889 |
Groups of alumnae in a given geographic
area may vote to organize a local club with a purpose
in keeping with the WCAA's mission and bylaws.
There are currently more than 100 registered clubs
throughout the United States and abroad.
