A Day To Make A Difference
Wellesley College's rich tradition of service
and citizenship is embodied in the College motto, Non Ministrari
Sed Ministrare,
and in its mission to educate women who will make a difference
in the world. Over the past eight years, A Day To Make
A Difference - a project that celebrates Wellesley's legacy
by designating
a day for alumnae to undertake service projects in their
areas - has been an overwhelming success.
We are delighted
to announce that the Alumnae Association
and Center for Work and Service have decided to continue
this initiative in the coming year. We invite you
to join us for
A Day To Make A Difference on September 6 or 7, 2008
by volunteering in projects hosted by alumnae clubs
or other groups of Wellesley
alumnae. You may choose to serve with family members
and friends, or individually. Our hope is that Wellesley
women will work
in partnership with not-for-profits or other service
organizations throughout the world to give back to
their communities to make
a difference in the world.
For more information on the
projects being offered in the Boston area to the
campus community by the Center
for Work
and Service, click here to
view the project descriptions .
To reserve a space in a Boston service
project, please return the registration
form by Monday,
August 25, to Melissa Hawkins at mhawkins@wellesley.edu with your
request.
We look forward to sharing this special event with
all of you!
