Wellesley Education Expedition
|
|
| The Art and Architecture
of Minneapolis |
2006
September 6 - 10
|
The recent openings
of three cultural landmarks (the riverfront Guthrie
Theater, the Minneapolis Central Library, and
the Minneapolis Institute of Arts expansion)
are just a few of the highlights of our art and
architecture tour to Minneapolis.
We’ll enjoy visits to artists’ studios
and galleries and private and corporate collections
as well as a special tour of the city by an architectural
historian. In addition, we’ll be treated
to a behind-the-scenes tour of the storage area
at the Frank Gehry-designed Frederick R. Weisman
Museum and the newly expanded Walker Art Center.
Experts along the way will give us an insider’s
perspective into the Minneapolis art and architecture
scene.
We will also meet Wellesley alumnae and
friends who are longtime residents of the area,
all sharing their passion for this extraordinary
city. Join us on what promises to be a fascinating “close
to home” experience!
