The Durant Society honors Wellesley’s most generous supporters. Thank you. We couldn’t do it without you.

The Durant Society was named in honor of Pauline and Henry Durant, founders of Wellesley College, who were passionate about the higher education of women. Established in 1969, the society celebrates Wellesley’s most generous supporters, whose gifts play a vital role in ensuring the fiscal health of the College.

All gifts of $2,500 or more ($500 for alumnae 1-5 years after graduation; $1,000 for alumnae 6-10 years after graduation) made in this fiscal year (July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014)—including outright gifts, monthly installment gifts, matching gifts, and planned gifts—qualify a donor for inclusion in The Durant Society.

Giving Levels and Benefits

Donors qualify for Durant Society inclusion according to the total sum of gifts made in a single fiscal year (from July 1 to June 30). This includes annual gifts to The Wellesley Fund, restricted gifts, matching gifts, life-income gifts, and other planned gifts.

The Durant Society membership levels, include:

President's Circle Benefactor: $25,000+
President's Circle: $10,000–$24,999
Dean’s Circle: $5,000–$9,999
Supporter: $2,500–$4,999

Recent Graduates
6–10 years after graduation: $1,000-$2,499
1–5 years after graduation: $500-$999

Durant Society Supporter:

• Invitation to attend the Durant Society reception at the President’s House during your reunion
• The latest academic and student news from College leadership via conference call twice annually
• Invitation to attend special regional Durant Society events

Dean’s Circle:

• All benefits listed above
• Priority seating at select on-campus events

President’s Circle:

• All benefits listed above
• The opportunity to support a student through a named current-use Wellesley Fund scholarship*
• Invitation to attend the Ruhlman and Tanner Conferences
• Option for a Wellesley-specific gift, such as a book, CD, or note cards
• Participation in the annual State of the College discussion with President Bottomly via conference call

President’s Circle Benefactor:

• All benefits listed above
• The opportunity to support a student through a namedcurrent-use Wellesley Fund scholarship with the option to specify the student’s major or hometown*
• Invitation to attend the President’s Circle Benefactor luncheon at the President’s House during your reunion

*Any new gift designated to either unrestricted or current-use financial aid

Monthly Installment Giving
