Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library logoThe Friends of the Library was established in the mid-1980's to provide alumnae, faculty, students, parents, and community supporters with an avenue for learning more about library services, collections, and facilities and for becoming more involved in a beloved and respected institution. The generous support of the Friends was a contributing factor in the selection of the Wellesley College Library as the first recipient of the Excellence in Academic Libraries Award, presented in 2000 by the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Throughout the year, the Friends sponsor speakers, faculty presentations and special events at the College. The semi-annual Friends Newsletter highlights these events as well as new developments at the Library. The Friends offer attractive printed note cards and other items using images drawn from the Library's collections (see Gift Shop). With the Friends' Honor with Books program, you can honor or remember a friend, classmate, faculty member, or relative.

Join us in our programs, our publications, our love of books and learning.  Become a Friend this year, as generous a Friend as you can be.
