In its 55th year, the Wellesley Club of Sarasota is an active, enthusiastic group of over 80 members out of 115 alums living in the area representing classes from 1929 - 2012. Alumnae travel to our meetings from as far away as Lakeland, Florida, to Boca Grande, Florida.

November 15: Lunch at Mediterraneo Restaurant 11:30 am
Chief Bernadette DePiso, the new Chief of Sarasota Police, will speak to us about the complicated issues of policing Sarasota.
December 13: Holiday Coffee 10:00 am

Bring a treat to share with alums and a check for our charity, the Mothers and Infants Program at First Step.
January 10: Wine and Finger Foods at Plymouth Harbour 5:00 pm
Dr. Donal O'Shea, the dynamic president of New College, will give us his insights on the future of liberal arts education in general and New College in specific. A social hour will follow his presentation.
February 21: Lunch at Sarasota Yacht Club 11:30 am
Matthew McLendon, PhD, Ringling Museum Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art will talk on "Art of Our Time," the contemporary arts initiative at the Ringling.
March 21: Lunch at Libby's Cafe and Bar 11:30 am
Barbara Beltz, PhD and Chair of the exciting new department of neuroscience at Wellesley, will talk on "New Neurons in Adult Brains: Stem Cell Surprises."
April 18: Tour of New College, Lunch & Annual Meeting at Treviso Cafe 11:00 am
Celebrate our Club's 55th anniversary with a slide show highlighting our history and a brief business meeting concluding another great year of connecting with the college and with each other.
