E-mail: ccracoli@wellesley.edu WELLESLEY PLACES FOURTH AT TUFTS INVITATIONAL MALDEN, MASS. – Tracy Bassett (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) placed seventh in a field of 102 runners to lead the Wellesley Cross Country team to a fourth place finish at the Tufts Invitational, Saturday in Malden. Bassett ran the 6k course in a time of 23:26 as the Blue scored 122 team points narrowly edging out Keene State for the fourth place finish by one point.
Sophomore Sarah Bard (Waterville, Maine) finished 20th for Wellesley in a time of 24:14 while Elizabeth Eiseman placed 23rd in a time of 24:31.
Amherst’s Carter Hamill won the race placing first in a time of 21:29 to lead the Lord Jeffs to a first-place team finish with 27 points.
