Wellesley improves to 1-1 while U. Mass-Dartmouth lost its second game straight to fall to 0-2. Gordon was one of seven Wellesley players to score a goal en route to a team record 10 goals. The previous record of nine goals was set on October 13, 2001 against Worcester Polytech Institute. Senior Tori Nelson (Wellesley, Mass./Lake Braddock) put the Blue on the scoreboard early finishing a Gordon assist with less than a minute gone in the game at 34:02. Wellesley then rattled off two more quick goals as Betsy Masiello (Soldoury, Pa./Saratoga) scored her first of two goals in the game at 33:32 and Gordon capitalized on a Marret Arfsten assist at 31:29, putting U.Mass-Dartmouth in a 3-0 hole just four minutes into the game. Zana Previti (Ashburnham, Mass./Cushing Academy), Nelson and Rahkee Patel (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) rounded out the first half scoring for Wellesley, which was ahead 6-0 at the half. The second half was a similar story, as Wellesley rattled off four more goals for the 10-0 final. Masiell, Gordon, Mira Patel (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) and Erinn Crane (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) each netted a tally for the Blue.
