Athletic Training Room Policies and Procedures

  • The athletic training room closes 30 minutes after the end of the last scheduled practice or contest.
  • All injuries should be reported to the athletic trainers to prevent delays in returning to play.  If you must utilize the Health Service, please alert the clinician that you are a student-athlete so that they can follow-up with the athletic training staff.
  • Student-athletes who have an acute injury should report to the athletic training room as soon as possible.  If you have an injury that is chronic, please do not report that injury between 3-4pm, as that is our busiest time and we want to be able to spend as much time necessary to properly evaluate your problem.  In these cases, it is best to call/email for an appointment to be evaluated earlier in the day.
  • All student-athletes are required to sign in prior to receiving any form of treatment or rehabilitation (this includes ice bag, bandages, stretching, etc.)
  • Equipment, clothing, sneakers, etc. should remain outside of the athletic training room.
  • The athletic training room is a medical facility.  Proper attire, appropriate language and behavior are expected at all times when utilizing our facility.
  • If you need to come to the athletic training room for an evaluation, please make sure that you have clothing suitable for an evaluation (shorts for lower extremity, tank top or sports bra for upper extremity).
