James Zachazewski has been an integral part of the Wellesley Sports Medicine staff for many years. “Zach” comes to Wellesley periodically to share his knowledge as a physical therapist and athletic trainer with the student-athletes at Wellesley.
Zach received his Bachelor’s degree in physical education from Springfield College, a Master of Science degree in physical therapy from Boston University, and a Doctorate in physical therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.
He has held various professional positions throughout his career, including Director of Athletic Training and Rehabilitation at UCLA and Assistant Professor of physical therapy programs at Massachusetts General Hospital. He has also served as the Director of Physical Therapy, supervisor of outpatient services, and Director of Rehabilitation services at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. His current position is the Clinical Director of Massachusetts General Hospital Sports Medicine.
Zach is a member of numerous professional organizations, committees, and advisory groups. He has volunteered at the Olympic games, the Women’s World Cup Soccer tournament, and the US Figure Skating Association to name a few. He has also published numerous articles and research pieces and has spoken at numerous professional venues and conferences.
