Insurance Information/Medical Bill Payment
- All student-athletes at Wellesley College are required to provide proof of medical insurance coverage before participating in any practice or competition (a photocopy of your current insurance card is needed for our records). If at any time you are without insurance coverage, you jeopardize your eligibility to participate in athletics at Wellesley College. Insurance coverage is also required for full-time students enrolled in college by the state of Massachusetts.
- Wellesley College does offer insurance coverage through Koster. This plan may be used as your primary insurance or can be purchased as an "excess policy” in absence of primary insurance coverage. Please contact the insurance administrator, Sharon Pierce at (781) 283-2811 for questions or enrollment.
- In the event that a student-athlete requires additional medical care such as appointments with specialists, diagnostic testing such as MRI, CT scans, or x-rays, the athletic training staff will assist and facilitate with these processes. Please note, however, that due to privacy regulations, the burden of verifying insurance and obtaining referrals is on the student-athlete and/or family. Additionally, any balances or unpaid expenses are the responsibility of the student-athlete and/or family.
