Wellesley Crew Places Four On NEWMAC All-Academic Team
Babson Park, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2008 Women's Rowing Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday. Wellesley placed four rowers on the team, with juniors Jackie Lewandowski (Chicago, IL) and Adrienne Topic (Danville, CA) as well as sophomores Tracy Wang (Princeton Junction, NJ) and Kate Spelman (Scituate, MA) earning the honor.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2007 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
Earlier this season the Wellesley crew team took home the Florence Jope Smith Cup, awarded to the team with the highest number of points at the NEWMAC Women's Rowing Championship.
