Wellesley's Chelsea-Ann Patry Named NEWMAC Player of the Week
BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Wellesley College first-year midfielder Chelsea-Ann Patry (Warrenton, VA) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the period ending October 18.
Patry tallied five points in a 2-0 week for Wellesley as the Blue picked up wins against Babson (in double overtime) and Clark. The rookie's impact was felt against the Cougars with Wellesley down 2-1 late in the second half. The Blue scored two goals in the final six minutes of play with Patry assisting on the game-winner and then adding an insurance goal to seal the come-from-behind victory for Wellesley.
Wellesley Soccer stands at 8-6-2 on the season, with a 6-1-1 mark in NEWMAC play. The Blue will play at Wheaton on Tuesday, facing the 6-1-1 Lyons in a game that will decide the top-seed and host in the upcoming NEWMAC playoffs.
