Student-Athlete Spotlight... Laura Barrett

Colette Whitaker

A sophomore attack on the lacrosse team, Colette garnered a NEWMAC Player of the Week Honor last season as well as a spot on the Seven Sisters All-Tournament Team and the NEWMAC All-Conference Team.  She finished the 2007 season with 57 goals and 13 assists for 70 points.

  • If you could play any sport that you have never played before, what would it be? Windsurfing

  • Goals for your team: Beat Babson and win the conference.

    What are your plans when you graduate? Backpacking in Colorado

  • Who is your favorite professional athlete?Mikey Powell

  • Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Traveling around Rwanda helping orphan children

  • What do you want to know about the future?The next winning lottery number

  • What does success mean to you? Success means emptying the tank.

  • What does it mean to be a student-athlete at Wellesley? Life is a balancing act between academics and athletics. You get the best of both worlds and get to meet a lot of great people.

  • Something about you that would surprise people: I spoke Chinese for 3 years before learning English

  • Who is the team’s best dancer? Catherine E. Schaefer and Alexis D. Fischer

  • Nobody knows how much I like… Salt and Vinegar chips.
