Wellesley Squash Defeats Columbia
WELLESLEY, MA - The Wellesley College squash team defeated Columbia University 6-3 on Sunday afternoon at Dana Hall in Wellesley. The Blue got wins from positions three to eight to seal the win.
At three, Jackie Shaw (Washington Crossing, PA) picked up a 9-0, 9-6, 9-3 win and at four, Caroline Tall (Wellesley, MA) won 9-6, 9-2, 10-8. After dropping the first two games, Natalie Chen (Lexington, MA) won the final three to win at number five in a marathon match.
Geraldine Ng (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) got a 9-3, 9-1, 9-7 win at number six while Oly Fernando (Manila, Philippines) and Ashley Stevens (East Harwich, MA) also picked up wins for Wellesley.
The Blue are back in action on Wednesday at 6:30pm taking on Tufts University at 6:30pm at Dana Hall.
