Wellesley Squash Falls to Tufts
WELLESLEY, MA - The Wellesley College squash team fell to 16th-ranked Tufts University on Wednesday evening at Dana Hall in Wellesley.
Wellesley played several tight matches, but Estelle Raimondo (Digoin, France) emerged as the only winner for the Blue. Raimondo dropped the first game 9-10, but won the next three (9-4, 9-3, 9-0) to seal the victory.
At number three, Caroline Tall (Wellesley, MA) played an excellent match, but fell 3-2 with match scores of 3-9, 9-5, 5-9, 10-9, 4-9. After dropping the first two games, Ashley Stevens (East Harwich, MA) rallied to win the next two, but eventually fell 3-2 (7-9, 5-9, 9-1, 9-6, 6-9) in the number seven position.
The loss sets Wellesley's final 2007-08 dual meet record at 8-7. The Blue will next compete at the Howe Cup (hosted by Princeton University) beginning on Friday, February 22nd. First-round pairings will be announced at a later date.
