Wellesley's Saxena and Shen Named NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week
BABSON PARK, Mass. – Wellesley College sophomores Shivani Saxena (Milan, Italy) and Jacqueline Shen (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) were named the New England 
Women's and Men's Athletics Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week for the period ending October 26th.
Saxena and Shen had a 3-0 week for the Blue including two wins as Wellesley
won its fifth consecutive NEWMAC Championship.
To start the week, the
sophomores picked up an 8-5 victory at third doubles against Division-I URI.
At the NEWMAC Championships, Saxena and Shen were 8-5 winners against Babson
and also won an 8-5 decision in the title match against MIT.
Wellesley tennis finished the fall portion of their season with a 9-2 record and earned a berth into the 2009 NCAA Championships. The Blue will return to the courts in the spring.
