Peng Named NEWMAC Volleyball Player of the Week


WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College sophomore volleyball player Victoria Peng (Diamond Bar, CA) was named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending September 14, 2008.Peng

Sophomore setter Victoria Peng led Wellesley to a perfect 4-0 record for the week, averaging 11.92 assists per game while guiding the Blue a .257 team hitting percentage. Peng also notched 22 digs and six blocks in the Blue's four wins.

In three matches, Peng tallied 40 or more assists, including a 43-assist performance in a 3-1 win over an undefeated Brandeis squad.  She also had a 40-assist outing in a 3-0 sweep of defending regional champion Amherst College, handing the 2007 Elite-Eight qualifier its first loss of the season.
 
Wellesley, now 7-0 overall, Wellesley takes the court on Tuesday, September 16, when they travel to Mount Holyoke for a conference match-up.
