Assistant fencing coach.
Rob has been fencing for close to 20 years and coaching for fifteen of those years. His belief is that any sport, including fencing, is as difficult as the athlete decides to make it. As a coach, his function is to work with his athletes to remove whatever impediments, be they physical, intellectual or emotional, his students encounter as they continue their fencing careers. Rob strivse to constantly learn, modify and adjust his coaching to current techniques, drawing from his own competitive career at the national and international level but also from interaction and observations with other high caliber coaches.
Rob has coached all level of fencers from children to veterans, in club and academic settings, including Tufts University, Dana Hall School, Zeta Fencing, Commonwealth High School and his current positions at Wellesley College and Moe Fencing Club. Highlights of his student’s achievements include: individual and team foil & epee champions in at New England Intercollegiate Fencing Championships, 6th place finish at NCAA Regionals, Veteran 50+ National Team member (11th place at 2009 World Veteran Championships), 2009 Bay State Games Scholastic Boys epée champion. He has also been part of the Coaching Staff of the Year, Northeast Fencing Conference twice.
