Engaging students in recreation, intramurals, and club sports; teaching outdoor education.
As director of recreation, intramurals, and club sports I engage students in activities that help them find an important balance during their time at Wellesley and beyond. Exercise is important for memory and cognitive processing speed, and my goal is for Wellesley students to have a lot of fun doing it. The recreation program is diverse and always expanding to meet student interests and needs.
I teach introduction to rock climbing and cross country skiing. Most recently I developed a canoe course that will involve a river trip and overnight with a focus on “Leave No Trace” education.
