Advice for class of 2013

Advice for the Class of 2013

The changes to the BIOC major should not affect you except in terms of the designation of courses and the number of lab sections offered.

If you have not yet taken the two-semester Biochemistry sequence:

- Register for BIOC (or CHEM) 223 in the fall. This is the replacement for CHEM 221 and will cover much of the same material. It will have a lab.

- Register for CHEM 328 in the spring. There will be one lab section for students needing 328 to complete their major. In your lecture will also be students registered for BIOC (or CHEM) 323. They will not have a lab, but this should have no effect on you.

If you have not yet taken P Chem:

- Register for CHEM 232 in the spring. There will be one lab section for students needing 232 to complete their major. In your lecture will also be students registered for BIOC (or CHEM) 331. They will not have a lab, but this should have no effect on you. The instructor may modify or excuse you from some of the lecture assignments since you also have the lab in this semester.

All other requirements are unchanged for your class. Please see your advisor and/or the BIOC director (Prof. Wolfson this year or Prof. Elmore next) if you have any questions.
