Clinical Training Program Application Process

This is an academic year clinical training program,3-4 days per week; Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with Wednesday & Thursday being required full days.  The primary focus of the training is to provide counseling services to Wellesley College students.  The experience includes individual and group counseling, workshops, outreach and educational programming, as well as, consultation with members of the college community.  Some outreach programs may occur after hours or weekends.

For Practicum Students:  Nine-month placement, from September - May; 24 hours a week over three to four days.

For Internship Students:  Ten-month placement, from mid-August - mid June; 25 hours a week over three to four days, including emergency and after hours, on-call services.

Components of the Training Program include individual clinical supervision, group supervision, several training seminars, clinical team meeting, a trainee support group, and additional opportunities for participation in larger activities of the Stone Center and the Wellesley Centers for Women.

Application Process:

Five positions are available as follows:

Two-Three advanced clinical positions for graduate Psychology students.
One-Two advanced (2nd year) clinical internships for students enrolled in MSW programs.

Application materials must include:
A cover letter explaining the applicant's interest in the particular training program of choice.
A resume or vita
Three letters of recommendation highlighting clinical experience.
A recent, official transcript

The deadline for receipt of all application materials is January 4, 2013, although applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible.  Electronic submissions are preferred, but, for those who do not have internet access, we will accept one set of completed application materials, including references addressed to Angela Guerrero, LICSW, Assistant Director & Coordinator of Training, Stone Center Counseling Service, Wellesley College, 106 Central Street, Wellesley, MA 02481 which should be received in our office on or before January 4th.

All applicants:
After a review of the written materials, interviews will be scheduled in January.  Final decisions will be made in February.
