Clinical Training Program Application Process
This is a 9-10 month training program consisting of 3-4 days per week; Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, with Wednesday & Thursday being required full days. The primary focus of the training is to provide counseling services to Wellesley College students. The experience includes individual and group counseling, workshops, outreach and educational programming, as well as, consultation with members of the college community. Some outreach programs may occur after hours or weekends. Every intern/trainee is required to participate in two, after-hours, activities per semester.
Components of the Training Program include individual clinical supervision, group supervision, several training seminars, clinical team meeting, a trainee support group, and additional opportunities for participation in larger activities of the Stone Center and the Wellesley Centers for Women.
William James Consortium Internship: This is a ten-month placement for up to two years from mid-August through mid-June; 25 hours a week over three-to-four days. Interns will be required to see students with emergency needs, will be on call in the 2nd semester of their 1st year and both semesters in their 2nd year, they will also assess the readiness of students who apply to study abroad.
Practicum Students: This is a doctoral-level, nine-month placement, from September - May; 24 hours a week over three to four days with Wednesday and Thursday being required, full days.
Social Work Students: This is a 2nd year Master of Social Work, nine-month placement from September - May; 24 hours a week over three to four days, with Wednesday and Thursday being required, full days.
Five positions are available:
Two William James College Consortium Internship Positions
One Doctoral-Level, Practicum Psychology position.
Two 2nd year Master of Social Work Clinical internships for students enrolled in MSW programs.

Three letters of recommendation highlighting clinical experience: placement supervisors highly recommended.

All applicants: After a review of the written materials, interviews will be scheduled in January and February. Final decisions will be made in February. Due to our required clearing process, these positions will not be finalized until late Spring.
