All applicants to the Management Basics program are required to complete:
  • the Management Basics application form (see below). A resume may be submitted in lieu of responses to questions regarding academic and employment background.
  • a one-page typed essay outlining their reasons for wishing to enroll, leadership experiences, extracurricular activities, and interests.

The completed application form, the essay, and a $15 non-refundable application fee (made payable to Wellesley College) should be submitted to the Center for Work and Service, Green Hall 441, or mailed to 106 Central Street, Wellesley, MA 02481. Attn: Management Basics.

In admitting candidates, factors weighed include a serious desire for challenging work, the ability to contribute pertinent ideas and experiences to class discussion, and a willingness to work hard throughout the program.

Enrollment is limited to 55 students. The program is open to all undergraduates, alumnae, and Wellesley College staff. Admission priority is given to current students. The program will be open to the non-Wellesley community if space is available.

Wellesley College reserves the right to cancel the Mangement Basics program if registration is insufficient, and to make changes as needed. Management Basics is a non-credit course. Certificates of completion will be awarded.



The completed application form and essay, and $15 application fee is due to the CWS, Green Hall 441, by 4 pm, Thursday, November 8, 2007.
Students will be notified of their application status by November 19, 2007. Students will also be notified of financial aid awards by November 19, 2007.
Applications received after November 8 will be considered on a space-available basis.
Full payment of $750 is due to the CWS, Green Hall 441, by 4 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2007.

Program Cost
Tuition for the three-week program is $750 and includes all materials. Full payment is due by 4 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2007. Financial assistance for the program tuition is available for Wellesley undergraduates who are currently receiving aid from the Financial Aid Office. Please check the box on the application form if you wish to be considered for financial aid.
