About CWS

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Center for Work and Service Web site. Within these pages we have described the extensive career resources available to your daughter throughout her four years and beyond. In her early college years, your daughter may be most interested in our internships and community service programs. Wellesley College supports a large and diverse number of summer internships and community service projects in the United States and around the world. More than 300 students participate in 52 internship programs in 33 countries. We maintain internship databases and provide career advising to every student. Community service is also a major focus at Wellesley - most students participate in a service activity or organization during their undergraduate years and several students have developed large scale service projects on their own.

Later your daughter will be making decisions about employment or graduate school. Be sure to look at our on-campus recruiting pages as well as our advising programs for graduate study. The Wellesley Network is perhaps the single greatest resource available to Wellesley students and alumnae. Over 34,000 alumnae provide guidance and support to both students and other alumnae on career and life issues. Your daughter may access this resource online at any time.

I hope you enjoy your exploration of our Web site and familiarize yourself with our resources. Encourage your daughter to visit us at any time, whether she is in her first semester or her last. It is never too late for your daughter to begin working with us. We stand ready to help her at every step along the way.

Sincerely,

S. Joanne Murray '81
Director
