Wintersession: Give Kids the World

Give Kids the World

Wintersession Alternative Break 2015
January 10th-17th, 2015
Kissimmee, FL

Give Kids the World (GKTW) is a 70-acre nonprofit "storybook" resort, located near Central Florida's most beloved attractions, where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free fantasy vacations. The gates of Give Kids the World Village opened in 1989, and since then, with the help of generous donations and partnering wish-granting organizations, GKTW has welcomed more than 130,000 families from all 50 states and over 75 countries. No child in need has ever been turned away and--with the support of their employees, donors, and generous volunteers (us!)--no child ever will.

GTWK depends on their volunteers, or as they call them, Angels, to fulfill hundreds of volunteer shifts every day. Throughout the week, we will have the opportunity to work a variety of jobs including food service, greeting families, assisting at various rides and venues, transportation, and helping at various entertainment events.
