Advising

Meeting with a career counselor is an excellent way to gain clarity and focus about your career direction. You will be able to make an informed career choice through a discussion of your interests and goals. A counselor will also help you develop a search strategy that is most effective for you. Stop in during drop-ins to get started.

Comprehensive career-related self-assessment considers your:
  • values (what is important to you, what motivates you);
  • talents, skills and abilities;
  • interests (including your ideals and dreams);
  • other priorities (family, athletics, hobbies, etc.).

The CWS offers a workshop on self-assessment or exploration to help you determine your career interests by examining who you are and what is important to you. In this workshop, you will focus on your values, experiences, interests, and talents to create a personal profile for career decision-making. Check the CWS Workshops and Programs Calendar in MyCWS for dates and times.
