Anchor Point Internships in Global Leadership


Eligibility: Current Wellesley College sophomores and juniors only;
Students may submit only one application to the CWS Identified Internship programs per deadline, indicating both their first and second choice placements.
Award: $5000
The CWS is offering additional financial aid to students whose tuition contribution would make their participation in the Identified Internship Programs impossible otherwise. Our programs are need-blind and all students, including those who do not currently receive financial aid, are eligible to apply for this supplemental aid for up to $500. The Anchor Point Internships in Global Leadership were established through the generosity of Amy Batchelor ’88 and Brad Feld. Students will undertake ten-week summer internships in programs that foster students’ connections to the global community, and encourage global leadership skills and activities. In 2010, Anchor Point internship placements are available in Douala, Cameroon, and in Cape Verde, to students from a variety of academic backgrounds. The Clinton Foundation internship will also be offered as part of the Anchor Point Internships in Global Leadership. Internship sites range from a foundation dedicated to young women’s scientific and technological education to a local women’s NGO working to improve economic and social conditions. These community development-based projects will enable students to encounter the diversity, creative dynamism, and humanity existing throughout the world.
