The Los Angeles Film Internship Program offers students experience in the film industry through internships at production companies and other offices related to film making.

Students' tasks are varied, depending on their office assignment:  reading scripts, writing coverage on scripts, answering phones, filing, clerical duties, general administrative and gopher tasks.   Menial tasks are to be expected, however occasionally there is an opportunity to be on a movie set.

This internship will allow you to further your understanding of the movie business, and develop relationships that may be valuable contacts if you decide to pursue a career in film.

Internships

Once participants are selected for the program, potential sites are identified based on the interns' interests and strengths. The interns are assigned a site based on what is available to the program.

Typical internships:
  • Film Production Office (an office set up for a specific film production)
  • Film Development Office (an office, usually overseen by producers, which develops material (books, screenplays, etc.)
  • Casting Office
