CWS Recruiting Blog FAQs

Why is CWS Recruiting starting a blog?

In an effort to make recruiting more accessible to students, the Recruiting Office has set up a blog at www.cwshire.wordpress.com. Starting in Fall 2008, we will be phasing out the cws-recruiting-tips FirstClass conference and moving all of our posts to the blog. Blogs are easy to navigate, easy to search, and present a cleaner design than FirstClass conferences. Additionally, many programs at the CWS are moving to the blog format and we will be able to link to relevant information.

How can we access the blog?

The blog is private to all but one username and password to keep the posted recruiting opportunities exclusive to Wellesley students. CWS asks that you use this account only to view recruiting opportunities on the CWS Recruiting blog. Please refrain from using this account to post any items--failure to do so will result in penalty and possible expulsion from the recruiting program. To obtain the password, see CLOE in MyCWS Reference Library or email: cws_hire@wellesley.edu.

What information can I find on the blog?

All of the information normally found on the cws-recruiting-tips FirstClass conference will be found on the blog. Additionally, the blog has been divided into several general categories to facilitate student use. The categories are as follows:
  • Articles: Recruiting-relevant articles will be posted here in full-text, along with a link to the original article online.
  • Companies/Organizations: Companies that have a larger presence on-campus (e.g. those who recruit on-campus several times during the year) will be listed here-most are investment banks like Goldman Sachs and not-for-profit organizations like Teach for America.
  • General Recruiting: How to use MyCWS, apply for MIT recruiting opportunities, and other information such as which recruiter comments are available.
  • Industries: Broad categories of recruiting opportunities by industry (e.g. finance and consulting, government and NGOs).
  • On-Campus Info Sessions: General information regarding companies coming on-campus to present. (Check MyCWS for location and times.)
  • Year-Specific Opportunities: Recruiting opportunities specifically for first-years, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and those studying abroad.

Note: WordPress allows us to tag each post under more than one category so some articles may appear in several relevant categories.

Posts are logged in chronological order but students can also use the search box on the right-hand side of the blog to search for specific postings, archived posts, and general categories.
