Community Service Transportation
The Center for Work and Service has three, six-passenger mini vans available
for use by students, faculty, and staff for the express purpose of transporting
students to community service sites and sites where students are completing internships
for credit. Community service vehicles cannot be used for any other purpose.
The vans are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
To reserve a vehicle, a student must complete the
CWS Community Service Transportation Form and submit
it to the CWS, Green Hall 439. A copy of the student’s driver’s
license must be handed in with the completed transportation form.
Requests
for weekday reservations must be submitted by noon two days prior to the date
needed. Requests for a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday must be submitted
no later than noon on the previous Wednesday.
Depending on availability of the CWS vehicles, students may be assigned a Zipcar.
Students will be notified if they need to register with Zipcar.
There is a $25 yearly membership fee to join Zipcar. The CWS will reimburse the
student for the $25 annual Zipcar membership fee if the student is only using
the vehicles for community service. In such cases, the Zipcar membership
card
will be held at the CWS. In order to be reimbursed, students will need to
bring the Zipcar membership card to the CWS with a receipt for the $25.
Students who will be using Zipcar for community service and personal use will
be required to pay the $25 membership. Proof of Zipcar membership must be
given to the CWS with the completed CWS Community Service Transportation Form.
