Duties: update information on the Davis website; prepare new pages as needed; update the Davis Facebook page and other social media accounts; scan slides, transparencies, and other images using specialized software; serve as photographer for special events; research technology projects from other museums; process new photography with Photoshop for inclusion in the collections management database; and provide technical assistance for the museum staff. The student may also help coordinate other computer-based technology projects at the museum and, depending on interests and skills, act as a producer for such projects. Assistants will be trained in rules for the proper care and handling of works of art. They will also be called upon to help with the reorganization of the works on paper collection. Additionally, general office support will also be a responsibility of these students. | Description: | Security Guards are an active, visual presence in the Davis Museum. Guards interact with visitors on various levels; including life safety, visitor assistance, parcel control, monitoring and controlling access to the museum and the collection. As visitors may only come in personal contact with Security Dept. staff, it is vital that the Guards are alert, friendly, and helpful.There are four security posts which all guards will be required to work: Gallery Patrols, Information Desk, Jewett Bridge Desk, and Standby Duty. There are three Security Guard classifications: Regular Guard, Lead Guard, and Head Trainer Lead Guard. Interested students can pick-up a job application at the Davis Museum lobby front desk. Interviews will be conducted during the first week of September. |
