MBTA - The Ride
MBTA's paratransit program that provides transportation with lift equipped vans and sedans to serve people who cannot use general public transportation due to a disability. You must complete an application to use this program.

MBTA Lift Bus Program Call-A-Lift Service
Call 1.800.LIFTBUS or 800.543.8287 by 1:00 PM the day before you want to travel to schedule a wheelchair lift-equipped bus.

Educational and Vocational Training

 
Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD)
An international, multicultural organization of professionals committed to full participation in higher education for persons with disabilities. Offers numerous training programs, workshops, publications, and conferences.

Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC)
MRC provides vocational rehabilitation, job placement and training including higher education, and other services.

HEATH Resource Center
National clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities.

Architectural Accessibility

 
ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (ADAAG)
Outlines technical requirements for accessibility to buildings and facilities by individuals with disabilities under the American Disabilities Act (1990).

Massachusetts Architectural Access Board
The Access Board’s website contains architectural access codes. Their staff is available to provide technical assistance. Both State and federal code must be reviewed when considering access.

Disability Law

 
ADA Technical Center
Provides assistance regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Disability Law Center (DLC)
Represents clients with disabilities who have been discriminated against because of their disability. Priority issues include discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodation, childcare facilities, and transportation.
