Associated Kyoto Program (AKP)
What: An enriching, rigorous two-semester program in the ancient capital of Kyoto for students from 13 sponsoring institutions. In conjunction with Doshisha University , the program provides an opportunity for students to study Japanese language and related courses in the humanities and the social sciences, while living with a homestay family in the Kyoto area. Students are encouraged to participate in travel and cultural activities.
Where: Kyoto (Doshisha University consists of 2 campuses, the Imadegawa campus between the Imperial Palace and the Shokokuji Zen monastery in north-central Kyoto and the newly constructed campus at Shin-Tanabe, south of the city. The AKP offices, library, and computer facilities are located on the Imadegawa campus. Classes meet on Imadegawa campus and at Shinmachi (5 minute walk away).

Japan Women's University (JWU)
What: A challenging total-immersion year-long exchange program between Wellesley College and Japan Women's University, which is located in the heart of Tokyo. In addition to a versatile liberal arts curriculum with a strong emphasis on Japanese studies, the university also offers a wide range of club and extracurricular activities. Students also have the opportunity to take courses at the co-educational Waseda University. Students choose home stay or dormitory option.

Hokkaido International Foundation (MSF approved)
What: Intensive 8-week summer course in Japanese language and culture. Study abroad program includes summer-long homestay with a Japanese family.

Princeton in Ishikawa Program (MSF approved)
What: Highly competitive 8-week intensive Japanese language program (2nd and 3rd year students). Living with host family all summer.
Where: Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture (about 5 hours from Tokyo)

International Christian University (MSF approved)
What: 6-week intensive Japanese language program. Living in campus dorm, in nearby apartment or with host family all summer. ICU offers various levels of Japanese language study well beyond the intermediate level.

What: 9-week intensive Japanese language immersion program at Middlebury College (elementary to advanced level). Social and cultural activities including weekend parties, talent shows, and field days.
