Research

ES students in Natick Community Farm greenhouse

Research is the heart of environmental studies – it’s how we come to understand the world around us and form ideas for how best to protect it.

Faculty are passionate about their active research agendas – ask us about what we are working on! There are many opportunities for students to work with faculty on research, whether through a summer or year-long research program, or independent study in a lab or on a self-created research project.

Many of our courses also have important research components in which we conduct meaningful research with relevant conclusions, rather than simply repeating exercises.
