Dr. Pinn is a legend in the field of both women's health and public health. Dr. Pinn's retirement was published in the Congressional Record in November 2011, and she was awarded a Special Recognition Award for exceptional leadership by the Association of American Medical Colleges. Dr. Pinn has spent a great deal of effort in ensuring the inclusion of both women and minorities in federally funded clinical research, two very important and yet chronically underrepresented populations of inquiry. Dr. Pinn has been honored with countless awards and honors, including the naming of an advisory college for medical students at the University of Virginia, "Vivian Pinn College of UVA".

An alumna, former trustee, and 1993 recipient of the Alumni Achievement Award, Dr. Pinn isgiving a lecture to students and faculty alike about how women have, and continue to, assert themselves on the biomedical and biopolitical stages of our country. A captivating, inspirational and incredibly informed speaker, Dr. Pinn has most recently spoken at the Albright Institute in 2013, as well as to Reunion in 2012, at which her talk, attended by countless alumnae and President Bottomly, received absolutely glowing reviews.

Dr. Pinn is a 'Woman who has", and her assessments and insights can help all of us "Women who hope to" gain perspective on the role of women and minorities in positions of influence and representation, as well as politics and health. We are truly honored to have Dr. Pinn interested in sharing with us her incredible story, experiences, and knowledge. She is the type of powerful and determined leader Wellesley attracts and fosters, and reflexively makes us proud to call Wellesley our home.
