Project Unbreakable Lecture
Location: Collins Cinema
Thursday, April 3, 2014 - 6:30pm
Project Unbreakable photographs sexual assault survivors holding posters with phrases their abuser said to them, phrases that others said to them after they disclosed their assault, and phrases that the survivors find empowering. By sharing their experiences on these posters, survivors may feel solidarity with others with similar experiences, feel empowered to have total control of their own story, and demonstrate that they are indeed unbreakable despite experiencing trauma. Project Unbreakable's photographer Grace Brown and executive director Kaelyn Siversky will be giving a lecture that discusses the history of the project, why it is important to shed light on sexual assault, and the issue of consent & prevention.
