Professor Frömming's special interests include 20th-century German literature, the arts of the European Avantgarde and eighteenth-century studies.


Professor Frömming's special interests include 20th-century German literature, the arts of the European Avantgarde and eighteenth-century studies. Her dissertation entitled “Pastorale. Melancholic Sovereignty and Its Musical Redemption in Eighteenth-Century Thought” analyzes poetic transformations of the ancient trope of music’s anti-melancholic capacities in literary, essayistic and operatic works of Christoph Martin Wieland.
