All students may seek medical care at the Health Service, regardless of what  health insurance you have.

Wellesley College offers BCBS Student Health Insurance Plan through our broker University Health Plans

Health Service submits claims for the BCBS Student Health Insurance Plan ONLY.

Health Service does NOT submit bills/ claims to non BCBS Student Health Insurance Plans. Each student is responsible for payment of their own bills. Each student is encouraged to submit paid bills to their insurance plan for reimbursement. The initial billing statement for services rendered is sent electronically to the student’s (secure) portal. After 45 days (from billing date), all unpaid statements are posted to student’s Wellesley College student account with a $5 service fee and subject to College billing procedures.

If you are covered by MassHealth or a Massachusetts subsidized Health Benefit Plan then you are eligible to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan. Please note that Health Safety Net, MassHealth Limited, and Children’s Medical Security Plans are not considered comparable to the Student Health Insurance Plan and you are not eligible to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan with those plans.
