Introducing Extend Health: A New Retiree Medical Program Enhancement
We are happy to tell you about a new benefit service for retiring employees age 65 or over.
To help navigate the complicated retiree medical landscape, we continually look for ways to bring added value and more cost effective benefit options to our retiring employees. We are pleased to inform you of this new benefit enhancement that will be advantageous to you, at no cost. Remember, employees retiring under the age of 65 are covered under the College’s active medical plan, at the active employee rate until age 65. Effective 4/1/13, spouses are also covered until they reach age 65, or the retiree reaches age 65. Our representatives from Extend Health will guide you in making informed decisions in planning your medical needs in retirement.
Why Extend Health
Finding a Medicare supplement plan is intimidating and confusing. To help retiring employees understand and evaluate all the options, Wellesley College has teamed with Extend Health – the largest Medicare exchange in the country. Their private marketplace offers thousands of plans from over 75 of the nation’s leading insurance companies. We chose Extend Health because of their comprehensive knowledge of the Medicare market, variety of useful tools, superior customer service, licensed benefit advisors and positive reputation in the marketplace as trusted advisors for thousands of retirees.
What Extend Health Does for You
Extend Health is an unbiased third party service whose sole purpose is to give you personalized support when choosing a Medicare supplement plan; they are not an insurance company. Their trained and licensed benefit advisors educate you about Medicare, and will do the legwork to deliver to you a selection of plans that meet your individual needs and budget. Together, you evaluate the plans and choose the best one for you. Once you are ready to enroll, Extend Health will walk you through the enrollment process. They are with you every step of the way, even after you make your selection.
Contact an Extend Health representative at 1-888-724-3001 or visit their website https://www.extendhealth.com/retireebenefits. They will help you gain a better understanding of this opportunity, to select the right health plan that best meets your needs. Talking with Extend Health and receiving quotes from them does not commit you to enrolling in one of their plans.
We are excited about this new partnership with Extend Health. If you have questions, contact Marymichele Delany at 781-283-2215.
