Interim Co-Director of Human Resources and Director of Employment, Diversity, and Inclusion
Carolyn Slaboden has worked in the Human Resources Office since 1989 in progressively responsible roles. In her current role as Co-Director of Human Resources and Director of Employment, Diversity, and Inclusion, she serves as strategic partner to department and division heads, and as a resource to all employees on a wide range of HR issues, including staffing and staff relations, compensation, and organizational development. Carolyn directs all activities related to recruitment, hiring, and meeting long-term faculty and staff employment goals. She is responsible for oversight of the Equal Opportunity function within Human Resources.
In partnership with the dean of intercultural education and the associate provost, Carolyn is responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of campus initiatives to support a diverse and inclusive campus environment.
Carolyn has been certified as a Professional in Human Resources through the Society of Human Resource Management since 1999 and is an active member of the Boston Consortium Employment and Diversity communities of practice. Carolyn is an active member of Wellesley's Minority Recruitment, Hiring, and Retention Committee and a past committee member of the Diversity Coalition and Administrative Committee on Diversity.
