Scholars & Faculty
Wellesley College welcomes international faculty and scholars as they add to our already diverse campus community.
Prospective international faculty members work first with the Office of Human Resources and the particular department offering employment. Prospective international short-term researchers and scholars work with the department and sponsoring faculty member directly.
Once an academic department has made an offer to an international faculty member, the Provost’s Office will put the Department in touch with the Director of the Slater International Center. The Slater International Center is an important resource for both departments and faculty members beginning employment at the College as well as those interested in inviting/sponsoring international faculty members, researchers, lecturers, and short-term visitors to the College. The staff of Slater International Center work with the sponsoring department and the foreign national to facilitate the immigration process. Immigration processes for temporary positions are usually handled internally. Permanent/tenure track positions are referred by the Slater International Center to an immigration attorney that works with the college. Additional information in available in the Faculty Handbook.
If you have any questions about hiring an international faculty member/scholar, please contact the Slater International Center at 781.283.2082 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
NOTE: Immigration regulations are complicated and change frequently. The information posted on this site is a limited overview and does not constitute legal advice. Please consult with the Slater International Center and you will be referred to the appropriate resources for the most up to date and accurate information.
