What is SciFinder?
SciFinder is the major tool for finding chemistry information. It searches several major chemical databases (CAplus, REGISTRY, CHEMCATS, CHEMLIST, CASREACT) and MEDLINE.
How many people can be logged in at one time?
We no longer have a limit.
Is special software required for use of SciFinder?
SciFinder does not require installation of client software. For structure drawing you will need a Java plugin installed for your browser. For more information: SciFinder System Recommendations and Requirements.
Is SciFinder available from off-campus?
Yes, it is!
Who may register to use SciFinder?
Only current Wellesley College students, faculty, and staff members.
May I register using a personal, non-Wellesley email address?
No. You must use your Wellesley College email address.
Where do I register?

- Complete and submit the web registration form. Read the Tips carefully.
- Open the email from SciFinder right away.
- Click on the link inside the email WITHIN 48 HOURS to complete your registration.
- Act responsibly, to avoid possible termination of your SciFinder Web access. Violations may also jeopardize the College's access to this valuable resource.
