LIB-Computing Classroom Equipment Instructions
AV Controls
- Use the SONY Projector remote located on top of the equipment rack to turn the projector on/off.
- Use the gray Extron box on the instructor table to change computer source.
- Use the switcher on the equipment rack to switch between computer and VCR.
Turning on the Projector
On the SONY remote, press the green I/O button and wait 30 seconds.
Projection Screen
The projection screen must be pulled down manually.
Projecting from the Computer (Dual Boot Windows/Macintosh)
- Confirm the computer is on.
- On the SONY remote, press the INPUT button so INPUT-A is displayed on the projection screen.
- Select the PC button on the Extron box on the instructor table.
Projecting from a Laptop
- Connect the laptop to the Extron box on the instructor table using the VGA cable.
- On the SONY remote, press the INPUT button so INPUT-A is displayed on the projection screen.
- Select the Laptop button on the Extron box.
Volume/Mute
Volume can be adjusted two ways:
- Use the SONY remote's volume buttons (+ or -). To mute picture and/or sound, press Audio or Picture. Press again to restore picture and/or sound.
- The equipment rack has a volume control that should be turned clockwise to increase volume.
Laser Pointer
The SONY remote has a built-in laser pointer. Press the Laser button on the remote to emit the laser beam.
Wireless Microphone
- Locate the wireless microphone in the equipment rack's drawer.
- Confirm the microphone itself is on. Use the rack's volume control dial to adjust the volume.
Projecting from the VCR
- Turn on the VCR on the equipment rack and insert VHS tape.
- Above the VCR is a switcher with two active buttons. Select VCR.
- Use the VCR's controls to play, rewind, etc.
Turning off the Projector
On the SONY remote, press the green I/O button twice. This will put the projector in a stand-by mode allowing it to cool down.
NOTE: You will not be able to turn the projector back on during its one minute cool-down period.
