If you use a smart phone or other mobile device at work or to access work email, you should take some precautions to improve the security of that device.

  • Never store sensitive information.   The College’s Written Information Security Program prohibits the storage of confidential information on mobile devices.

  • Keep software updated.   To avoid a potential virus, keep the device software up-to-date.

  • Set an access password.   Require a password to be entered in order for the device to be used.

  • Lock device after inactivity.   Set the device to lock automatically after a period of inactivity and require the password to regain access.
