Anti-virus Support
Supported Windows Anti-Virus Products
Wellesley College's Cisco NAC (Network Admission Control) system currently allows the following anti-virus products to pass the anti-virus portion of its computer security checks. If the anti-virus product you use is not listed below, please contact the Computing Help Desk for assistance.
- Microsoft Security Essentials
- version 4 tested, older versions should also work.
- Cost: Free, Recommended by LTS
- McAfee All Access, Total Protection, Internet Security, or AntiVirus Plus
- 2012 version tested, older versions should also work.
- Cost: Trial version for 30 days, yearly subscription fees
- Norton Anti-Virus, Internet Security, or 360
- 2012 version tested, older version should also work.
- Cost: Trial version for 30 days, yearly subscription fees
- Avast 7 Anti-Virus
- version 7 tested, older versions should work.
- Cost: Free and Paid versions available.
- Kaspersky Anti-Virus, or Internet Security
- 2012 version tested, older versions should also work.
- If during the install a 'incompatible programs' box appears but doesn't list any applications, quit the installer, uninstall Malwarebytes, install Kaspersky, then install Malwarebytes again. Kaspersky knows about this but has not resolved the issue yet.
- Cost: Trial version for 30 days, yearly subscription fees.
Library & Technology Services continues to test new brands and versions as we become aware of them, and will update this document as needed.

- BitDefender
- Eset NOD32
