Anne Hutchinson: A New Opera!
In January 2014, Intermezzo: The New England Chamber Opera Series will present its 10th commissioned chamber opera based on Anne Hutchinson, one of colonial America's most fascinating characters. The opera focuses on Hutchinson's trial in 1635, where Gov. John Winthrop led the accusations against her. This presentation will include scenes from the opera, as well as a discussion about the topic, its transformation into an opera with the composer and librettists, as well as the stage director, musical director, and the principal artists.
This event is free and open to the public. We are wheelchair accessible: If you have questions or concerns regarding this issue, please call James Wice, Director of Disability Services at 781-283-2434.
