Teja Reddy '15

Hello! I am Teja and I am a sophomore and I plan to major in
biological chemistry. I joined the Tetel lab during spring semester of
my first year and I plan to continue work in Summer 2012 through the
Wellesley College Summer Science Research Program. I have always been
interested in research before coming to Wellesley and worked at Oregon
National Primate Research Center of Oregon Health and Sciences
University throughout high school.

I have been working with Kelsey Diederich and Elizabeth Bless on
investigating the interaction between estrogen and leptin signaling in
the mouse hypothalamus. We are also planning on investigating whether
signal transducer and activator of transcription-3 (STAT3) physically
associates with estrogen receptors. I am enthusiastic to learn new
laboratory techniques and gain experience with animal work. I am
excited to be a part of this project and I hope to continue working in
the Tetel lab throughout my time at Wellesley.

Besides being a part of Tetel lab, I work for Center for Work and
Service and I am part of the executive board for Darshana: Wellesley’s
Hindu Society. I enjoy playing tennis and dancing Kathak in my spare
time!
